Hey, I'm Avery
I work as a project manager, am a parent, and I’m an expat based in Toronto, Canada.
Several years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of living abroad.
Origins of the Move
Moving to Canada wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Transition Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took root. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Created Glade Pixel Ledger
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow travel content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to close that gap—practical advice drawn from real-life experiences in Canada.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is not:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Canada goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Cheers,
Avery
